Echo Console
This sculptural console is made from glued layers of oak wood combined with beaten brass legs.
The intense black colour of the wood is obtained through a process called 'ebonising.' By making
a mix of vinegar and steel and spreading it over the oak wood, the mix reacts with the tannic acid
in the oak wood and turns it deep black.
The unique shape of the legs is formed by clamping
brass plates in a mould and manually shaping them. These parts are then welded together to form
the legs of the console.
