Delta Mirror
The Delta Mirrors are wall objects/mirrors inspired by various river deltas.
A river delta is a system of branches of a river before it flows into the sea or a large lake or desert.
The Greek historian Herodotus was the first to name this natural phenomenon when he found the
shape of the Nile resembling the Greek capital letter delta. Other well-known deltas include those
of the Mekong and Amazon rivers. But the Netherlands is also known as a contiguous delta area.
Onno's interest in this natural phenomenon formed the basis for the different designs. Each delta
is a unique pattern formed by a battle between water and land. This pattern tells a story about the
forces of nature, how a river cuts through the land to eventually flow into the sea.
The Delta Mirrors are made from different types of wood such as oak and walnut. Some designs
are inspired by existing deltas, others by fictional rivers. Unique mirrors can also be made on request for customers of specific rivers/countries where they
have travelled. The reflective part is made of polished brass.
