Small cabinets for precious items, designed to incite wonder and curiosity about what’s inside. It requires an active participation of the viewer, being triggered to look inside but only seeing the items with a clear view from a certain angle.
The color effect is created by two crossed polarizing filters, followed by a PETG plastic sheet. Due to stress in the material, the light reflects into different angles of radiation, resulting in these changing colors. This effect, called birefringence, is used in the industry in order to check where a plastic product has weak spots.
