The design process undergoes fundamental changes due to advances in technology, and therefore, unpredictability and intuition play a smaller role in the creative process. In the creation of SCLPT Bench, Onno embraced and made visible the craft of sculpting. What was once a rectangular block of foam has been carved into shape. Without involving machines, he tore off parts bit by bit, leaving his choices visible and discovering the bench’s final shape. In this way, every bench becomes a unique object that appears to levitate thanks to its transparent support structure.
SCLPT Bench is available in three finishings, all made in a limited edition of 8 pieces.
